Holla Chico´s & Chica´s.
I wasn´t going to write for a few more days but I am tryng to download my pictures from Colonia and it appears to be taking a long time since i took 298 so hey, what the hell a few more words from a very sunny Buensos Aires wont hurt.
I regret to say that my tango lessons never happened on Wednesday despite my enthusiasm for the cause, I ended up instead cooking an absolutely huge meal which took longer than i was expexting and ages to eat so not only would we have been late, but all involved were of the persuation that sitting (eventually escalated to walking) was all we could manage.
Another change to my plans are that I will now be taking my spanish lessons in Montevideo starting on Monday. I am travelling on a bus over night from Buenos Aires with Josh and Michelle (team canadia). They´re going to the same school but they can actually speak spanish, they´ve just showing off now by taking an advanced class. After this we will all split to go our own ways. I will be going back to Buenos Aires so that I can take another week of lessons.
Some of you reading this may never have stayed in a hostel and might be thinking what it would be like... well here is a little insight to the hostel i´am staying in at the moment.
Showers - now traditionally you would be forgiven for imagining them to be dirty, cold and not a lot of fun. Well i´m pleased to say that my experiences here have been really positive. the showers are clean instead of a shortage of hot water there is an abundence of it, in fact i´d go as far as to say that there is a shortage of cold water given that i can happily spend a good part of my morning re hydrating under a hot, high pressured, cleansing & comforting stream but as soon as someone turns a cold tap in the building they turn into a scolding parade of steam of lava.

Hi Guys and Girls,
What to say about the last few days... Well I went to the ´La Boca´match on Sunday. The game was all but inspiring as football goes despite being two of the best teams in Argentina. The score was 1 -1 for the most part and at half time the opposition on the terrace above us were spitting and thowing things... not pleasant but fortunately we were positioned just out of reach. The last goal of the game was scored by La Boca in the 40th Minute and the place errupted with chanting and singing and lots of hand waving(!!). As we know i´m not a big football fan but I had a good time and pleased to be able to say I went and survived.
I only just managed to get to the match on Sunday because i was hindered by a rather just hangover from the evening before. Damian (German) who´s staying in the hostel who´s been here before and speaks spanish, took me to to a local party to meet his friends from the last trip (the little courtyard was full of europeans, one argentinian and a whole bunch of chileans who thought i looked like ´beck´much to their amusement) we were drinking very cheap larger and then went to a club and another bar. (The evening ending at 630am) Was a brilliant night and had so much fun but Damian had to translate for me when i was trying unsuccessfully to talk to girls.
This brings me to my future endeveours. I have made the decision and now arranged to start Spanish lessons on Monday next week for at least one week, possibly 2. On Wednesday I start Tango lessons which will no doubt be a sourse of much ammusement to all those involved and if you´re lucky someone might video this little floor spinning disaster so it can be shared by all.
Off to bed as catching a ferry at 8 to Colonia in Uruguay in the morning... oh the troubles of a traveller.

Firstly lets not get to thinking that I will be giving daily updates but given this is my first evening and having time on my hands before bed time i thought i´d drop some first impressions.
My usual routine with stuff like this is to lavish a lengthy diatribe made up of observations and quips (normally of a negative demeaner) but this would not offer justice to how I am finding Buenos Aires. I did have a hard time trying to get simple tasks done but this is what has helped make my day what it was and to comment on every thought would give an undeserved negative impression.
I have wondered around completely and bewilderingly lost trying to find nothing. There is so much to this place and so much to see that if i had not surrendered to my hunger i´d never have stopped walking.
I am staying in the southern region of San Telmo which is a crazy mix of old new and eccentric. The marina (where there is a university) is made up of canals and modern buildings housing expensive restaurants & cafes, venture two streets away from this and there is a tyraid of traffic and noice, little crooked streets sheltering cafes and bars then roads 4 lanes deep in both directions.
I admit that I have nothing to really report but given this is my first day everything is exciting and new and well couldn´t resist letting everyone know that I have actually made it here.

Hello and Welcome to my first post,
I am as most of you will know taking on the trip of a lifetime around South America. My trip starts on the 24th October when i fly into Buenos Aires, Argentina. My return ticket from Buenos Aires is in 8 months time so what happens in the middle is yet to be decided.
As i sit here on my friends sofa in Toronto (which has been my bed for the last few days) I am filled with excitement and trepidation. The tickets were bought a long time ago and with it all happening in just a couple days the reality of this is starting to shine through.
